New Zealand Wai-iti Hop Profile

Developed by New Zealand Plant and Food Research, Wai-iti™ (Brand HORT7709) is a newer hop variety celebrated for its low alpha acid and high oils content. A true aroma hop, Wai-iti™ is a granddaughter of Liberty and a triploid hop derived from 1/3rd Hallertau Mittelfrüh. High oil content means a bouquet of high aroma and flavor! Freshly-squeezed lime and mixed citrus lead the way, followed by ripe stonefruit like fresh peach and apricot. With low cohumulone and high farnesene, Wai-iti produces a clean, rounded bitterness, making it a great choice for late additions in crisp lagers and ales.
